The Eye of the Storm

Remember in the movie Twister when Helen Hunt is calling out “we have debris”. Well, that sums up the environment of the last six months with rising inflation and interest rates. Finding the eye of the storm allows you to cope and here is how I find mine.

Working hard for something you don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion. Simon Sinek

Find the thing in your life that you can be passionate about so you can bounce out of bed every day with enthusiasm. My passion is to support all of you and I am motivated by our Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs), like our goal to mentor 1.0M women. Many of you are part of this and if this motivates you too, then get in touch to see how you can be involved.

Tip No 1 Find your Passion.

The other side of being passionate is being balanced and calm. For me this is about ensuring I support the Big Rocks in my life, those things really important to me; my family, my business and me. Unless I look after each one of these I seem to get out of balance and this leads to stress.

Tip No 2 Find your Big Rocks

For me, maintaining this balance is a constant activity. It is about taking small steps every single day, where I achieve one thing that will make a difference to my family, say making dinner; to me, going for a walk with the dog; and for my business, perhaps completing this message for the magazine. It is simple and easy to achieve.

Tip No 3 Achieve your balance daily.

Wishing you all a balanced & passionate six months.
