Kimberly Downes
Philanthropy and Fundraising Strategist
A recognised and accomplished senior philanthropy strategist with extensive experience in the education, religious, arts and healthcare sectors
My passion is in helping organisations develop a culture of philanthropy, become sustainable and to find what makes them stand out from others. I like to ask…”if your organisation didn’t exist, what would be missing from our community?” After obtaining a degree in marketing and psychology my first role as a Marketing Director involved the task of raising $2.5 million for a new centre. At that time, this was a significant fundraising goal, however that’s when I caught the fundraising bug and have never looked back. In my 30-year career I have worked directly for organisations and undertaken consultant roles in fundraising and philanthropy. The psychology of giving is something I have studied and researched and I am currently working on a project focusing on the role and influence of women’s giving. Fundraising involves telling your organisation’s story however, listening to your donors is a very important ingredient to achieve greater success. My experience in fundraising covers all aspects of the role. Let me help you achieve your goals.
